Selected Essays

In this essay I give a review of common definitions of and distinctions between fundamental and accidental symmetries in philosophy of physics. I specifically give a detailed discussion of Peter Kosso’s definitions and propose an extension to those. 

I give a quick overview of the general theory of relativity and the AdS/CFT correspondence. I then discuss how the latter can have applications related to many-body physics, and give a few examples with calculations.
